Lisa-Ann’s Bookshelf

A room without books is as a body without a soul.
– Sir John Lubbock (1834-1916)

I read — lots.  So much so that my husband says that I’ve single-handedly kept Amazon.com in business.   Once I read a book, I almost never can get rid of it.  The bookshelves are stacked, double-stacked, crammed full of books.

And because you should never have to finish a bad book (or something), I thought I’d share what I’m reading, and what I think about the book.

A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck, by Trace Adkins.   Grade: B+.  Who’d have thought Mr. Badonkadonk could write so articulately on so many topics — fatherhood, America, politics, terrorism, organized labor, coffee, and much more.  Partly autobiographical, mostly conservative and an enjoyable, quick read.
