Also living with them is a Phoeba Hunt, sister-in-law, 39, [born in OH] and John Shever, 22 who works on the farm. All of the children are born in IN. Lavina Jesse and Phoeba were born in OH. Phoeba's father born in PA and mother in OH. Jesse's parents were both born in VA. According to the census record, Phoeba is an invalid and Clarie is a school teacher.

JL McNEIL has received word of the death of his brother Milton A. McNeil at his home in Raymondsville, Tx. Mr. McNeil was a former Montgomery County resident having spent his boyhood days near Mace, Ind.

Children are Bertha, 16, born Feb 1884, Ruth, 14, born Jan 1886, Lee, 12, born Feb 1888, Jesse, 10, born Jan 1890, Boyd, 6, born Sep 1893, Harry, 4, born Jul 1895, and Elnora, 1, born Nov 1899. John was born in Indiana, his father in Ohio, and his mother in Indiana. Alice was born in Indiana and her parents were born in Virginia.

According to Indiana Marriages, 1845-1920, Ruth and Fred married June 23, 1906, County Clerk's Office, Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, IN, Book 16, Source Page 321. Also, it says she was born on June 21, 1886.

Marriage License and Certificate, Montgomery County, Indiana for Ruth and Fred. Fred's father was Charles A. Taylor, born in Kentucky, was a Barber and was living in Danville, IL at the time of the marriage of Fred and Ruth. Fred's mother was Artimesa Campbell, born in New Richmond, and living in New Richmond, IN. Ruth's father was J. L. McNeil, born Montgomery County, IN, and was a Telephone Manager residing in New Richmond, IN. Ruth's mother was Alice Rhodes, born in Wabash County, IN and residing in New Richmond, IN. Both Ruth and Fred were residing in New Richmond and they were married June 23, 1906. Married by Henry M. Middleton, Linden, IN, Pastor M. E. Church. This was their first marriage. Fred's birth date shows as July 18, 1884 and Ruth is January 21, 1886.

Birth record from Benton County Health Department, number 737, Book H-11, Page 10. Shows Ruth as the child of John Lee McNeil and Alice Rhodes. Parents were born in Indiana.

According to Indiana Marriages, 1845-1920, Ruth and Fred married June 23, 1906, County Clerk's Office, Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, IN, Book 16, Source Page 321. Also, it says she was born on June 21, 1886.

1920 Montgomery County, Indiana Farmer Directory, shows Ricklefs, A. G., McNeil, Ruth, Bessie, Bernice, Alvin. Township is North Union, Section 29, is listed as a owner of 147 acres and is a resident since 1920.

1920 Federal Census, Lauramie, Tippecanoe County, IN, SD 10, ED 184, SH 4, February 3, 1920: Alvin G. Ricklefs, 36, Ruth (McNeil), 34, Bessie (Taylor), 12, Bernice (Taylor), 7, and Alvin J. Ricklefs, 6 months. Bessie and Bernice are step-daughters to Alvin. All are able to read and write. Alvin and his mother were born in Indiana, while his father as born in Germany. Alvin is able to speak German and is a farmer.
