A. W. Brier, who has managing (sic) the old Shane livery barn for some time, has bought the old Spurlock barn in Woodward and moved up there the first of the week. We regret to see he and his family leave Harper County but wish them success in their new home.

Nettie Voris filed for a divorce against James on July 9, 1913 in Buffalo, Harper County, District Court of the 19th Judicial District of Harper County under case number 458. According to the divorce petition, James abandoned Nettie and Lee Roy on October 27, 1911 and they had no contact with him afterwards. Also stated that James had entered into a "pretended" marriage with Blanche McCanless on October 14, 1912 even though he and Nettie were still married. Also alleges he had committed many adulterous acts. Papers said he was a Railroad Brakeman. A Summons was issued on July 9, 1913 for James to appear on August 2, 1913 to defend himself in Court. On July 12, 1913 the Summons was returned as James could not be found in Harper County. In an affidavit, Nettie indicated that Blanche McCanless, going by the name Blanche Voris, had stated that James was in Wichita, Kansas. A Summons by publication was run three times in the Buffalo Bugle, in August, 1913. On December 12, 1913, an Order of Divorce was issued, to be in effect six months from that date. Nettie was given custody of Lee Roy Voris and Nettie had to pay the costs of the court.

Agnes Anetta Brier, daughter of Willard and Lottie Brier, was born in Williamsport, June 26, 1886 and departed this life February 27, 1914 at Wichita Falls, Texas. Nettie, as she was known by her many friends in and around Williamsport, spent most of her girlhood days here. She was a pupil of our schools for several years and being of a happy, cheerful disposition, made many friends who will be sorry to hear of her early death. A few years ago Mr. Brier moved his family to Oklahoma. There Nettie met and married Merle Voris, September 25, 1905, at Buffalo, Okla. To this union was born one son, Leroy, now age 7 years. Nettie leaves a father, mother, and little son, Leroy, one brother, Hazel, proceeded her just 11 months. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Josephine Werner, in Williamsport, Wednesday, March 4, conducted by Rev. William Wilmer. Interment was made in Highland cemetery. The pall-bearers were Julius Delancey, Earl Hamilton, Charles McCabe, Homer Stewart, Raymond Hatton and Herbert Odle.

Hazel Brier, son of Willard and Lottie Brier was born in Williamsport, February 19, 1890, departed this life March 20, 1913, at his home near Sikeston, Missouri, aged 23 years, one month, and one day. Hazel was married to Nota Randolph January 12, 1913. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 10 o'clock, March 26 by Rev. Berr, of Vandurer, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Sikeston, Missouri. Pall bearers were Claude, Clyde and Hershel Randolph, Hurshin Rogers, Ward Wilson and Lenn Swatts.
